CHANGING SPEED AND DIRECTION – Wheel Printing

Published March 1, 2025 By Mick Farmer

When driving, in this case off road, it’s essential that we are evaluating the conditions to identify we have the traction necessary to successfully manoeuvre. Constantly monitoring vehicle language to make sure inputs are felt and understood. A common error is to put in an input to change direction and failing to identify that the vehicle has not followed our instructions. Another input of steering is applied and we have now increased the resistance acting on the vehicle and the chances of failure increase. CHANGING SPEED AND DIRECTION - LOW RANGE

It’s always a good idea to make sure there’s enough traction available to change speed and direction; under control. And … keep the vehicle moving.
